*AS YOU COMPLETE THE PRE-ASSESSMENT, MR. MARTIN WILL COME AROUND WITH YOUR DETAILED PROGRESS REPORTS FOR THE FIRST FIVE WEEKS*

Transition
--Turn in your pre-assessment by placing it in the black basket on the front table.  Pick up a copy of the “Self-Evaluation--Plan for Success” packet from the front table.  Look closely at your progress report (located on the floor next to your desk) and begin completing the self-evaluation as directed.

HW
Mandatory assignment:
--Enjoy the long weekend--you've been given a gift!
FYI:
--At this point, you are expected to have "mastered" the contents of the "Deepening Our Understanding..." notes document (especially Habits 1-4).  Expect Mr. Martin to check on your knowledge of, understanding of, and ability to apply the information next week (hint, hint)!
Optional (but highly encouraged!) assignment:
--If you are dissatisfied with your current performance in English 9, set a goal for improvement--make your future happen!
Other optional assignments:
--Purposefully read sections of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens in order to "beef up" your "Deepening Our Understanding..." document.  This, of course, will further prepare you for any future assessment (hint, hint...again!).
--Purposefully read information from The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens about Personal Mission Statements (pages 81-91).  Your next major assignment will be crafting your own Personal Mission Statement, and this information should help you get started!
