--Bring your copy of Divergent as well as anything else that belongs to me next class.  If you do not turn in items that do not belong to you, you will be charged accordingly!

*It's time to turn in books!  If you are finished using your copies of Lord of the Flies and To Kill a Mockingbird, carefully pull out all of your notes and place the book or books on the front table.  Also, if you have any other books in your possession that belong to me, put them on the front table.
--Turn in the written portion of the End-of-Course Assignment by placing your best work in the black basket on the front table.
--If you are interested in refreshments, then you are in luck!  After attendance, I will draw cards and send students over to grab refreshments from the univent.

--Finish preparing for the Unit #10 vocabulary quiz, which will take place at the beginning of next class (Wednesday, 6/8).  I strongly advise you to complete the vocabulary exercises in your book as preparation!  REMEMBER THAT WORDS FROM PREVIOUS UNITS ARE "FAIR GAME" ON ANY VOCABULARY QUIZ THEREAFTER.
--If you have not already done so, finish reading your free reading book by the beginning of next class (Wednesday, 6/8)One-pagers are due at the end of next class for those students who have yet to complete one.  We will use some class time on Wednesday to complete one-pagers.  Students who have already submitted a one-pager will engage in Divergent reading during this time.

--The due date for submitting a revised The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet End-of-Unit Essay for the Cumulative Writing Portfolio is Monday, 6/6 by 3:00 PM (that's today!)--YOU MUST schedule a meeting with me to go over your revisions; simply handing in the revisions is unacceptable as per the protocol.

English 10 Honors--6/3/2016

--Block 2 students: Pick up a copy of the "End-of-Course Assignment--2016--Presentation Tips/Rubric" document FROM ME at the front table.  Take a look at this document during the first few minutes of class in order to...
  • determine with whom you will be presenting
  • familiarize yourself with the expectations
  • prepare any questions for me.
--Grab a laptop from the cart and log in.
--Open your vocabulary book to page 128. Look through the list of words and put a mark next to all of the words that you are pretty confident about knowing already. Also, make sure that you familiarize yourself with the "Whimsical Words."
