English 10 Honors--6/3/2016

Jump Off
--Block 2 students: Pick up a copy of the "End-of-Course Assignment--2016--Presentation Tips/Rubric" document FROM ME at the front table.  Take a look at this document during the first few minutes of class in order to...
  • determine with whom you will be presenting
  • familiarize yourself with the expectations
  • prepare any questions for me.
--Grab a laptop from the cart and log in.
--Open your vocabulary book to page 128. Look through the list of words and put a mark next to all of the words that you are pretty confident about knowing already. Also, make sure that you familiarize yourself with the "Whimsical Words."
*AS YOU WORK, I WILL RETURN YOUR UNIT #9 VOCABULARY QUIZ SO THAT YOU CAN ENGAGE IN SELF-REFLECTION.*

*PLEASE RETURN YOUR UNIT #9 VOCABULARY QUIZ DURING THIS TIME BY PLACING IT IN THE BLACK BASKET ON THE FRONT TABLE.*

HW (Class Preparation)
--Try to find some time to read your free reading book between now and next class if you have not already finished it.  Also, if you would like a one-pager, please see me!  One-pagers are due by the end of the day on Monday, 6/13.
HW (Class Preparation/Writing/Final Exam)
--Finish the written portion of your End-of-Course Assignment, which is due at the beginning of class next time (Tuesday, 6/7).
  • FYI: If you do not submit your writing piece at the beginning of class next time, I will refer you to the main office for central detention daily until I receive your work. 
--Prepare and practice your End-of-Course Assignment presentation.  Presentations begin next class (Tuesday, 6/7) as per the presentation order determined in class today (Block 2)/last time (Block 4).
--Reminder: Your Final Exam score is the average of your End-of-Course Assignment and your Cumulative Writing Portfolio.  If you would like to "check in" on your CWP, please see me during your free time!
