English 10 Honors--3/26/2019 DRAFT

--Please place the following in the black basket on the front table:
  • your counterargument paragraph with edits highlighted (if you elected to complete this task in order to earn a growth score for Marking Period 5)
  • "Poetry Assessment #1"
  • your "Applying the Conventions of Literature to Animated Film" written response (if you have not yet turned it in)
HW (Practice/Take-Home Assessment)
--Complete 45 minutes of Membean training in three different days before 11:59 PM on Thursday, 3/28 (see the "English Department Membean Routine" sheet).
HW (Class Preparation)
--If you feel it is necessary, read through the packet of additional information pertaining to today's common grammar error and complete PRACTICE #4 (located in a manila folder in the "Grammar Hammer Extras" area of the classroom).  A quiz about this error will take place sometime in the near future (the week after next, maybe?).
--Continue reviewing the conventions of literature, bearing in mind that you are expected to apply your knowledge and understanding (on the examination that you will begin taking next week, to Lord of the Flies, to your free reading books, to anything, really!) moving forward.
--NEXT CLASS (Thursday, 3/28), you will continue taking the "midterm".  Please come prepared!
--If you have not yet selected your final free reading book of the school year, consider doing so ASAP (with the knowledge, though, that you must read a memoir, and we will head to the library soon)--ALWAYS BRING YOUR FREE READING BOOK TO CLASS!
