--Reminder: Beginning with the end in mind!--the essential questions explored throughout the entirety of the course:

Why do people say what they say, do what they do, etc.?  What are human beings really like?  What is your "why?", and how is it related to your observations about/understanding of human nature?

HW (Practice/Take-Home Assessment)
--WE ARE TAKING A BREAK FROM MEMBEAN 3/15-3/21; HOWEVER, YOU CAN STILL TRAIN THESE NEXT 7 DAYS (AND ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO DO SO IF YOU HAVE FALLEN BEHIND).  In fact, an excellence score/comment will be awarded to anyone who "takes care of business" early with regard to the upcoming Membean assignment by meeting the training goal before the end of the day this Thursday!
--Complete another 45 minutes of Membean training in three different days before 11:59 PM on Thursday, 3/28 (see the "English Department Membean Routine" sheet).
Writing
--Your properly formatted, partially revised short story or poem is due by the end of the day TODAY (Wednesday, 3/20).  See your "Preparing for the GVEP Literary Contest" document for additional information.
--Consider continuing to improve your "Conventions of Literature Written Response".  I will likely not have a chance to look at your current drafts until the end of this week.
HW (Class Preparation)
--Continue reviewing the conventions of literature, bearing in mind that you are expected to apply your knowledge and understanding (on the examination that you will begin taking next week, to Lord of the Flies, to your free reading books, to anything, really!) moving forward.
--Beginning on Tuesday, 3/26, you will be taking an examination that mirrors the New York State Regents Examination in English Language Arts (Common Core).  Please come prepared!
--If you have not yet selected your final free reading book of the school year, consider doing so ASAP (with the knowledge, though, that you must read a memoir, and we will head to the library soon)--ALWAYS BRING YOUR FREE READING BOOK TO CLASS!
