--explain/model STEP 1 of the Building an Interest Inventory assignment again (pages 25-27 of Bruce Ballenger's The Curious Researcher) using the drawings on the whiteboard:
  • Under each heading, continue listing words and phrases in response to the three questions below.  Go crazy; write whatever comes to your mind:
    • What is interesting/important to me related to this category?
    • What do I know related to this category?
    • What do I want to know related to this category?

--WE ARE TAKING A BREAK FROM MEMBEAN 11/16-11/22 DUE TO THE HOLIDAY; HOWEVER, YOU CAN STILL TRAIN THESE NEXT 7 DAYS (AND ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO DO SO IF YOU HAVE FALLEN BEHIND)!
--Complete 45 minutes of Membean training in three different days before 11:59 PM on Thursday, 11/29 (see the "English Department Membean Routine" sheet).
HW (Class Preparation)
--Aim to read at least 10 pages of your free reading book each day over break.  If you achieve this goal, you will have read 50+ pages!  (I know that I, personally, am quite looking forward to reading Wally Lamb's The Hour I First Believed!)  You have up until early December to finish your book.  ALWAYS BRING YOUR FREE READING BOOK TO CLASS!

--We will continue working on the Animal Farm writing piece when we return from break!
--Enjoy the break!  May the effects of tryptophan spare you from having to hear conversations about the effects of tryptophan.
