English 10 Honors--6/10/2013

--This is our project presentation/share order for today: Laurence, Zachary, Kaitlin, Gil, Sara, Anika, Gabrielle, Leyla, Jenna H., Jenna P., Bryan, Noelle, Emily L., Julianna, Emily C., Hali, Travis, Kathleen, Grandbear, Derrick, and Alyssa.  Laurence: Be ready in about three minutes!

INFORMATION ABOUT THE CUMULATIVE WRITING PORTFOLIO:
  • The due date for submitting any revisions for the Cumulative Writing Portfolio is today (it's our last class day!)--The following student needs to submit an assignment to mastery in order to complete the portfolio: Grilled Cheese Day.  Don't forget to HIGHLIGHT your revisions.
  • NOTE: You cannot advance to English 11 without a completed Cumulative Writing Portfolio.

  • look at your two not-scored writing pieces (one from the beginning of the school year and another from a few weeks ago)--any obvious growth?!
  • take a look back through the contents of your Cumulative Writing Portfolio (which you can take home with you)--theoretically speaking, you will receive at least an 80-85% on future Livonia High School writing assignments if you submit the caliber of work that you eventually submitted to the portfolio for each assignment

  • The due date for submitting a revised Dragonsong Unit Final Essay for the Cumulative Writing Portfolio is today (it's our last class day!)--The following students need to submit revisions to mastery in order to complete the portfolio: BLOCK 2: Philosoraptor, Flash Gordon, RanRan, Benji, and Chocolate Chip; BLOCK 4: BooBoo and Nicknameless Person. Don't forget to HIGHLIGHT your revisions.
  • NOTE: You cannot advance to English 10 without a completed Cumulative Writing Portfolio.

  • The due date for submitting any revisions for the Cumulative Writing Portfolio, which is your Senior English Final Exam, is today (it's our last class day!)--The following students need to submit revisions to mastery in order to complete the portfolio: BLOCK 4: Yellow Raincoat, Clock, Pajamas, Grinch, and Chalk. Don't forget to HIGHLIGHT your revisions.
  • NOTE: You cannot graduate without a completed Cumulative Writing Portfolio.

Don't forget to schedule a meeting with Mr. Martin to go over your HIGHLIGHTED revisions.
--The following student still has not reached mastery for the first writing piece that must be included within the portfolio (M, D, O, L, C Revised Odyssey Unit Examination Response): Philosoraptor.
NOTE: You cannot advance to English 10 without a completed Cumulative Writing Portfolio.
--All English 9 students will take a Regional Post-Assessment next class.  The study guide handed out last week should help with preparation for the Regional Post-Assessment.  Though the contents of the regional test are a bit of a mystery, the test will likely be similar to the Regional Pre-Assessment completed on 11/7/2012.  Mr. Martin hopes that you prepare diligently for this exam, as the test results are meant to help him determine what you learned throughout the year, and he is confident you have learned a lot!  FINISH STUDYING--ALL OF YOU HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO NAIL THIS ASSESSMENT!
