--a few closure pieces from last class shared:

The Discussion That You Missed: A Prelude

Dear friend not present here today,
I offer you an altruistic note
so that for absence you will not pay
and have you knowledge of the boat.

The boat sits impervious to the sea
where not even children dare to tread.
An object of solace or hostility,
of which it is, is not yet said.

A Halo in Human Hands

Was the island good or bad?
was part of the discussion that we had.
Affiliated with the light beach sands
is the idea of a halo in human hands.

When you scrutinize the jungle, it is dark--
the symbol of evil is prominent and stark.
Green shadows deploy themselves over the boy;
showing light within darkness might evoke joy.
