Jump Off
--Take out your copy of the "Poetry 'Unit' Notes -- English 10 Honors" page and your "cheat sheet".  Add to both documents as per the information written on the front board.

--Pick up a copy of the next "Poetry Analysis Practice" sheet from the front table.

Poetry Analysis Practice Activity -- "Mi Familia"
--Step 1After purposefully reading the directions at the top of the "Poetry Analysis Practice" sheet, complete the task at hand until you are given another document and instructed to move forward with the multiple choice.
--Step 2: Complete the multiple choice quietly and independently.
--Step 3: Go over the multiple choice via a whole-class share-out.  As we do so, add items to the effect/authorial purpose chart.

Transition
--Procure your poems from last class block from the front table.

Application Activity #2/Writing Activity (cont.) -- Pass-Back Poetry

--continue/complete the writing activity via the directions included within the "Pass-Back Poetry Activity" document

HW (Practice/Take-Home Assessment)
--Complete 45 minutes of Membean training as directed before 11:59 PM on Thursday, 1/11.  If you fail to appropriately train between now and the administration of Vocabulary Quiz #4, you will not be permitted to take the quiz until you catch up (see the "Membean Routine" document).
--Complete another 45 minutes of Membean training as directed before 11:59 PM on Thursday, 1/18.  If you fail to appropriately train between now and the administration of Vocabulary Quiz #4, you will not be permitted to take the quiz until you catch up (see the "Membean Routine" document).
HW (Class Participation)
--Read at least 10 pages of your free reading book between now and next class.  Also, be prepared to talk about your book with your classmates next time that we meet.  ALWAYS BRING YOUR FREE READING BOOK TO CLASS!

Writing
--Continue working on the "Poetry Writing Assignment #1", which is due at the beginning of class on Thursday, 1/18 (ACE)/Friday, 1/19 (BDF).  Make sure that your work aligns with the scoring parameters.  My classroom is available after school for any individuals looking to "workshop" together.
Miscellaneous
--Consider working toward achievement of your S.M.A.R.T. Goal.  Do something great this year!
