--Please pick up a copy of the "......" sheet from the front table.  Follow the directions on this sheet at the library today following Mrs. Donohue's instruction.

  • Seat yourselves at the computers via a drawing of cards
  • Engage with instruction delivered by Mrs. Donohue
  • Find sources that you can use to develop a "focused knowledge of your topic.  According to Bruce Ballenger in The Cu
  • Conduct preliminary research in order to develop a "working knowledge" of your topic
    • Jot down notes on the back of your "Selecting a Potential Topic and a Developing a 'Working Knowledge'" sheet and/or in your notebook
      • Tip: Keep track of your sources so that you can easily re-access any that might end up being used in your final research paper!
    • Jot down any additional curious questions that come to you on the front of your sheet
    • FYI: Next class, you will take the podium and share your "working knowledge" with the class via a somewhat impromptu public speaking exercise!

--browse the library and select a free reading book for the next few marking periods (if you do not yet have a book)

--You are expected to select your next free reading book by the end of the day on Wednesday, 12/12.  Please see me if you would like help and/or a recommendation!  ALWAYS BRING YOUR FREE READING BOOK TO CLASS!
