Writing Activity -- Quick Write
--prompt shared:
Work on your short story (beginning, middle, end, rewrite a section--whatever!) for the next 10 minutes.
--timer set for 10 minutes...GO!!!
--For HW, reread your quick write and determine how to use your writing within your short story. If nothing is usable, that's fine, too!
Transition
--Turn to the section of your notebook that contains your Short Story Unit notes (or draw a line underneath your quick write--whatever!). Date the page again (1/8/2014) if necessary, and label this section of your notes "Realism as a Literary Movement".

--The due date for submitting a revised Intertextuality Unit--Culminating Essay Assignment for the Cumulative Writing Portfolio is Friday, February 14th <3 (a little over a month from today)--YOU MUST schedule a meeting with Mr. Martin to go over your revisions; simply handing in the revisions is unacceptable as per the protocol. When time permits, meetings can/will occur during class time.
--Continue outlining/drafting your short story. The final draft of the assignment is due at the beginning of class on Thursday, January 16th (a little over a week from today!).
--Finish purposefully reading “The Necklace” prior to the beginning of next class. Be prepared for an assessment and/or a discussion about the reading next class.
--The English 10 Honors Midterm Examination will take place on Monday, January 27th from 8:45 to 10:15.
