--Write your name on the back of the picture that you printed out for the south wall of the classroom.  Place your picture in the black basket on the front table.  (This, of course, only pertains to you if you did not submit a second picture in the library last class block.)
--Pick up a lined 3 X 5 card from the front table.
--Take out your notebook and date the page.  Label this section of your notes as follows: "Notes from Last Library Block".

S. the C.

LIBRARY

HW (Class Preparation)
--Complete a "UB Discussion Card" while/after reading up to the end of page 98 of An Ordinary Man.  The expectation is that your card consists of at least two potential contributions for discussion.  Discussions about An Ordinary Man will be driven by all of you via a drawing of name cards.  This assignment is to be completed by next class (Friday, 5/19).
--Following each section of reading of An Ordinary Man, I reserve the right to administer a "Did You Read?" assessment similar to those we have taken in the past.  If you have completed a successful reading, said assessment should not be challenging at all! :)
--Aim to read at least 5-10 pages of your free reading book between now and next class.  ALWAYS BRING YOUR FREE READING BOOK TO CLASS!
HW (Class Preparation)/Writing
--Continue moving forward with regard to the End-of-Course Assignment.  We (might?!) head to the library again next class (Friday, 5/19).

On the backburner:
  • Paraphrasing AoW as preparation for culminating assignment
  • Counterargument lesson/AoW as preparation for culminating assignment
  • ACT nonfiction passages and multiple choice questions
